Field Friday at Maple Creek Reach
Field Friday at Maple Creek Reach
give a gift volunteer

February 5th at Maple Creek Reach (9am to 3pm)
Yes, you read that right! Two Field Fridays just months apart at the same location. Well, we need your help on this 110-acre property! This property has undergone a great deal of habitat restoration and contains one of the most impressive creeks in Whatcom County that provides spawning habitat for all five Pacific salmon species. Join us for this Field Friday to remove Scotch broom, learn more about the property, and take a look at the confluence to the North Fork Nooksack River. Boots are recommended for the creek crossings at the end of the day!
Tools Suggested: Pulaski, shovel, and/or loppers (staff has 4 weed wrenches).
Directions: From Bellingham, take Mt. Baker Highway east to Maple Falls. Once through Maples Falls, follow the highway for two sharp bends followed by crossing Maple Creek. The entrance to the property will be on the right hand side at the bend in the highway after a straightaway. Look for the purple WLT sign!
