SUMMARY:Governors Point Bird Watching Walk
DESCRIPTION:Join members of Whatcom Land Trust and the North Cascades Audubon Society for a birdwatching-focused stroll through the wondrous nature of Governors Point before it opens to the public. \nWe are hosting this event on both June 15th and June 16th from 10am – 2pm. It will be the same event\, so pick the date that works the best for you – or sign up for both if you want to have double the chance of seeing the best birds! \nThe Land Trust has been working for decades to protect this truly unique community resource – the last undeveloped and unprotected shoreline on Chuckanut Bay – and through a collaboration with property owner Randy Bishop\, 98 acres of Governors Point were donated and protected forever as a public nature reserve. Walk along the coast and through mature forests to see stunning bayside views and spot migratory and resident birds such as woodpeckers\, warblers\, and seabirds that call this unique treasure their home. \nDue to limited parking\, participants will vanpool to Governors Point from the Whatcom Museum and enjoy a self-brought picnic lunch before returning back in the early afternoon. Take advantage of this special opportunity to preview Governors Point before it opens to the public! There is a max of 14 participants per day\, so be sure to purchase your ticket before they sell out. \nThe path at Governors Point is mostly paved. If you have any questions about mobility\, please reach out. The vanpool is not wheelchair accessible.

SUMMARY:40th Anniversary Party
DESCRIPTION:Whatcom Land Trust is celebrating our 40th Anniversary this year and we are throwing an anniversary celebration on April 12th at Structures Brewing on Holly St from 5:30 – 8pm! After forty years of community conservation\,\nWhatcom Land Trust is still protecting land to ensure healthy forests\, clean cold rivers\, public access\, and healthy habitats and corridors for an abundant diversity of life.\n\nStructures Brewing beer and food will be available for purchase. Attire is casual and an RSVP is not required. Thank you to Structures Brewing for helping us host this awesome event! We can’t wait to see you all there.
