SUMMARY:Field Friday Removing Invasive Ivy @ Lower Middle Fork Complex
DESCRIPTION:EVENT FULL! Email lauren.r@whatcomlandtrust.org to join the waitlist. \nJoin our Stewardship staff for a rewarding day at the Lower Middle Fork Complex as we work to remove invasive ivy and support the health of this vibrant floodplain forest. This 12.44-acre property\, protected by Whatcom Land Trust in 2017 through the generosity of local landowners\, lies along the Middle Fork Nooksack River and plays a vital role in salmon recovery. Its side channels\, mature cottonwoods\, cedar stands\, and conifer uplands provide critical habitat for spring Chinook and winter-run steelhead. Surrounded by several other Land Trust conservation sites\, this complex helps form a connected corridor of protected lands where salmon\, wildlife\, and river processes can thrive. \nWhat to Expect: Walking on uneven ground\, removing Ivy. \nHow to Get There: We will meet at the Whatcom Land Trust Office at 8 am and carpool from there. \nRSVP: Registration is REQUIRED for this event. Sign up here!
