Whatcom Land Trust Announces Leadership Change

Bellingham, WA February 13, 2024 – On Friday, Whatcom Land Trust announced the appointment of Jennifer Mackey as Interim Executive Director following the resignation of Gabe Epperson. Epperson served as the Land Trust’s Conservation Director from 2015-2020, before transitioning into the role of Executive Director.   

“The Trust appreciates Gabe’s commitment to the Land Trust over the past nine years. We value his passion for our shared mission and we celebrate the many successful land protection initiatives we’ve achieved during his tenure. We wish him luck in his next adventure,” said Board President Hall Walker.

 The Board is pleased to congratulate Interim Director Mackey, who has served as Whatcom Land Trust’s Stewardship Director for almost ten years. 

“We have a very strong and capable team. I’m excited to continue moving the strategic goals of the organization forward as we begin celebrating our 40th anniversary,” said Mackey.

The Whatcom Land Trust Board of Directors will launch a search for new leadership to further advance the Trust’s vision of land protection and stewardship. More details will be publicly available soon.
