The Administrative Assistant is responsible for clerical and accounting support and serves as the office’s first greeter to all visitors in person and community members inquiring over the phone. We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated and is detail-oriented. We are a small staff, so there will be times when this position may have to assist with other departmental projects or events.
The Communications Director is responsible for maximizing opportunities for education, collaboration and engagement to advance Whatcom Land Trust’s mission and strategic plan. Through effective storytelling, this position will build allies and personal relationships between Whatcom Land Trust and its internal and external stakeholders. Working through social media, press, events, effective advertising, soliciting community support and other innovative and systematic approaches, the Communication Director’s primary responsibility is to increase the overall size and reach of community engagement with the Land Trust. In conjunction with the Executive Director, the Philanthropy Director is responsible for building the resources needed to achieve the Trust’s mission, and to plan, develop and oversee organizational philanthropy and fundraising goals, strategies and benchmarks. Whatcom Land Trust seeks a skilled and successful team player who brings demonstrated energy and passion for our mission, a successful track record of raising funds in each of the revenue streams listed below, and the willingness and aptitude to work closely with staff, board and community members to attain short- and long-term success.
