Join Hob Osterlund at the Community Boating Center for a witty and engaging presentation along with Champagne and dessert, all to benefit Whatcom Land Trust. An award-winning author and photographer, Hob will share insights and images from her years spent among families of Laysan Albatross, known as mōlī in Hawaiian. Through public presentations, social media, and bird guiding, Hob tirelessly inspires people to care about the magnificent mōlī. Hob’s work has appeared in National Geographic Explorer, the New York Times, and Nature. Her book, Holy Mōlī: Albatross and Other Ancestors, has been described by bestselling author Cheryl Strayed as a “moving and fascinating book about birds, loss, and finding true home in the world.” Hob will sign copies following the presentation. (This event is 21+).
