Field Friday Removing Butterfly Bush and Scotch Broom @ Rutsatz Salmon Reserve
Join Whatcom Land Trust staff for a day of invasive species removal in the incredible floodplains at Rutsatz Salmon Reserve.
This beautiful stretch of protected land offers a rewarding opportunity to care for a dynamic floodplain ecosystem while spending time in a truly special place. During this Field Friday, volunteers will focus on removing invasive Scotch broom and butterfly bush using tools like weed wrenches. This work is essential to reducing competition for native plants, improving habitat for wildlife, and supporting the long-term health of the floodplain. We’ll hike out together to the work area and spend the day restoring this important landscape.
We will have snacks and tools available. We hope to see you out on the land!
