Governors Point Bird Watching Walk

June 15 - June 16

$40 – $50

Join members of Whatcom Land Trust and the North Cascades Audubon Society for a birdwatching-focused stroll through the wondrous nature of Governors Point before it opens to the public.

We are hosting this event on both June 15th and June 16th from 10am – 2pm. It will be the same event, so pick the date that works the best for you – or sign up for both if you want to have double the chance of seeing the best birds!

The Land Trust has been working for decades to protect this truly unique community resource – the last undeveloped and unprotected shoreline on Chuckanut Bay – and through a collaboration with property owner Randy Bishop, 98 acres of Governors Point were donated and protected forever as a public nature reserve. Walk along the coast and through mature forests to see stunning bayside views and spot migratory and resident birds such as woodpeckers, warblers, and seabirds that call this unique treasure their home.

Due to limited parking, participants will vanpool to Governors Point from the Whatcom Museum and enjoy a self-brought picnic lunch before returning back in the early afternoon. Take advantage of this special opportunity to preview Governors Point before it opens to the public! There is a max of 14 participants per day, so be sure to purchase your ticket before they sell out.

The path at Governors Point is mostly paved. If you have any questions about mobility, please reach out. The vanpool is not wheelchair accessible.
