The Olsen Estate, protected in 2002, is co-owned by Whatcom County and the City of Bellingham. Now that this property is part of the larger Lookout Mountain Forest Preserve, it is managed by Whatcom County Parks. This forested property contains various creeks flowing into Beaver Creek, which provides homes for a wide array of organisms while benefiting water quality and quanitity in Lake Whatcom.
